Hi I'm Louise and I am a specialist equine and pet portrait photographer based in Warwickshire.
Why I Love Photography
I always loved animals as I was growing up but I didn't really pick up a camera until I was in my late teens and it wasn't until my late thirties that I decided to really follow my long time passion and learn how to use the camera properly, a career in finance and a young family had always come first.
My passion for photography as a medium comes from the joy of capturing those precious moments that would otherwise be gone. Photographs have an amazing ability to transport you back to that place in time forever.
families grow up fast and life just whizzes by...
it's so important to capture those moments
I believe very passionately that our images should be printed and displayed in our homes. This is why I include a large framed print in my session fee.
Why Horse and Pet Portraits in Particular?
My passion for photographing horses and pets with their owners came from many years of taking pictures for various family and friends who own horses and dogs and also from volunteering at my local Riding for the Disabled Association (a wonderful charity that believes all disabled participants should have the opportunity to engage with horses and enjoy the enrichment that this can provide).
Over the years I have felt privileged to have photographed many people with their beloved horse or dog. I have a very relaxed and observational style in my photography so when a client says to me "wow you have really captured the bond I have with my horse" I can honestly say that I have done my job and I absolutely love what I do!
What I Do in My Spare Time?
When I'm not photographing animals and their humans it's normally something else! I have a love of landscape photography too which combines with another great passion of mine, travel and also wildlife photography.
Other things you might like to know about me;
I have a gorgeous golden retriever called Jess whom I love walking (as well as photographing!)
I love working out and running (not everyones cup of tea I know!)
I love to curl up with a good book (normally a biography or a history book)
I am also known to enjoy a large glass or two of a good wine...occasionally of course!
As I mentioned above I am involved in my local Riding for the Disabled Association. I am currently a Trustee there and have captured plenty of wonderful moments with my camera over the years.
I have also done lots of work for the National RDA charity including photographing their annual National Championships at Hartpury a number of times, being the official photographer for their AGM which has been attended by HRH Princess Anne, who is their president, and have had lots of my images published in various literature including a number of front cover images for their magazine.
